At MusoLoop (“we”, “our”, or “us”), your privacy is very important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our website, services, and platform (“Services”). By accessing MusoLoop, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. What Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of personal and usage information:

a. Personal Information

When you register or interact with MusoLoop, we may collect:

• Your name
• Email address
• Password (encrypted)
• Profile picture or avatar (if provided)
• Subscription status and billing information (if applicable)
• Any content you create, upload, or store (e.g. song data, lyrics, set lists, album art, Guitar Pro / notation files, drawings)
• Collaborator and guest invitation details (e.g. invitee email addresses) when you invite others to your site

b. Audience & Request Information

If you use public features such as song requests (including via QR code), we or the site owner may collect:

• Requester name
• Email address (for confirmation, “coming up”, and related notices)
• Mobile number, only if provided, and only with your consent to receive SMS updates
• Optional tip / payment details processed by Stripe (we do not store full card numbers)

Site owners may export requester emails from their own request queue (for example as a CSV) for legitimate communications related to their performances. Those exports are controlled by the site owner, not by MusoLoop as a mailing-list service on their behalf.

c. Guest Access

When someone joins a site with a guest access code or QR auto-login link, we may create a temporary guest account and session so they can view shared content. Guest access is time-limited and may be revoked by the site owner.

d. Demo / Try Sessions

If you use our public demo (for example at /try/), we create a disposable, private demo workspace for you. Demo accounts use non-real contact details and are not intended for long-term use. Demo content is not publicly indexed, sessions expire after a short period (currently about two hours), and expired demos are reset.

When a demo starts, we may record anonymous daily aggregates only:

• Approximate country (from our CDN edge, e.g. Cloudflare country code — not stored from your IP)
• Browser timezone
• Browser language / locale

We do not store your IP address, user agent, fingerprints, or per-person demo rows with those aggregates. Aggregates are pruned after about 90 days. A short notice also appears on the demo start page.

e. Usage & Security Information

We collect analytics and technical data to operate and protect the platform, such as:

• IP address (including for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and login security; rate-limit keys may use a hashed form of the IP and are temporary)
• Device type and browser
• Date and time of access
• Pages visited and actions taken on the platform

f. Information Stored on Your Device

MusoLoop may store data locally in your browser to make the product work, including:

• Session and preference cookies (login, navigation context, UI layout preferences)
• localStorage settings (for example sidebar/focus preferences or view choices)
• Offline Mode caches (song/collection content and related assets stored on your device via browser storage and/or a service worker so you can use content without a connection)

Offline caches remain on your device until you clear them or remove the cached collections.

g. Third-party Services

If you choose to integrate with, pay through, or log in via third-party services, we may collect information associated with those accounts with your consent or as needed to provide the feature. Examples include:

• Stripe — subscriptions, tips, refunds, and Stripe Connect for performers who accept tips
• MailPoet — optional newsletter / product email signup
• Spotify / Apple (iTunes) — album artwork lookup and optional playlist-related features
• Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, security, and coarse country signals
• Gravity Forms — registration and related forms

Where practical we reduce third-party tracking (for example by self-hosting fonts rather than loading them from Google).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

• Create and manage your account and sites
• Allow you to create, edit, share, and play song-related content
• Provide guest access, collaborator invites, and public request features you enable
• Operate disposable demo sessions and improve the demo experience using anonymous aggregates
• Process payments, tips, refunds, and subscriptions
• Send service updates, transactional emails, and (only if you opt in) newsletters
• Send request-related email or SMS updates when a requester has provided contact details and any required consent
• Provide support and respond to inquiries
• Improve and personalise your experience
• Monitor usage trends, prevent abuse, and protect platform integrity
• Enforce our Terms of Use

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

• With service providers: hosting, CDN/security (e.g. Cloudflare), email/newsletter tools (e.g. MailPoet), payment processing (e.g. Stripe), and support tooling.
• Between performers and audiences: when you submit a song request or tip, your details are shared with the relevant site owner as needed to fulfil the request, tip, or follow-up message. Tip funds may be routed to a performer’s connected Stripe account.
• With your consent: we may share or display your content (e.g. published songs or set lists) based on your sharing settings.
• To comply with legal obligations: we may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.

4. How We Store and Protect Your Data

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and access controls. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Data is stored on servers located in Australia and/or other countries where our service providers operate (for example CDN, payment, or email providers).

Demo workspaces are private to the demo session, expire automatically, and are reset. They are not intended as a permanent store of personal content.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, run guest/demo sessions, support Offline Mode, and analyse usage. You can control many cookie preferences through your browser settings. Clearing site data may log you out, end a demo session, or remove offline caches.

6. Accessing, Updating, and Deleting Your Information

You can access and update much of your personal information by logging into your account. You may also request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold about you by contacting us at [email protected].

If you submitted a song request to a performer, some details may also be held in that performer’s MusoLoop site. We can help coordinate deletion requests where we control the data; site owners are responsible for information they export or keep outside the platform.

Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe using the link in those emails.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. In particular:

• Account and content data are kept while your account/site remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward if needed for backups, billing, or legal reasons
• Guest access sessions and temporary guest users are cleaned up after access expires
• Demo sessions expire and are recycled; anonymous demo aggregates are retained for about 90 days
• Security/rate-limit records are temporary
• Offline caches remain on your device until you clear them

8. Children’s Privacy

MusoLoop is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (including the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and, where it applies, the GDPR), such as the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request corrections to your personal information
• Request deletion or restriction of processing, where applicable
• Object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (for example newsletter signup or SMS updates)
• Make a complaint if you believe we have breached your privacy rights

10. International Visitors

If you access MusoLoop from outside Australia, your information may be processed in Australia and in other countries where our providers operate. By using the Services, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to those locations.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or notices on our website. Your continued use of the platform constitutes your agreement to the updated policy.
